MUS 5301 Music History and Literature

A comprehensive survey of music history and examination of music literature from antiquity to the present with an exploration of cultural ideas, the churchï¿½s influence upon music, the sociopolitical implications connected to music, with emphasis on pivotal compositions of each era. The course is open to all students.
