RNSG 1216. PROFESSIONAL NURSING COMPETENCIES (0-8-2) Includes health assessment and medication administration. This course lends itself to a concept-based approach. Development of professional nursing competencies in the care of patients throughout the lifespan. Emphasizes psychomotor skills and clinical reasoning in the performance of nursing procedures related to the concepts of: clinical judgment, comfort, elimination, fluid and electrolytes, nutrition, gas exchange, safety, functional ability, immunity, metabolism, mobility, and tissue integrity. Includes health assessment and medication administration. This course lends itself to a concept-based approach.Prerequisites: Admission to Nursing Program, BIOL 2401, 2402, ENGL 1301 and PSYC 2301. Corequisites/Concurrent: RNSG 1125, 1128, 1161, and 1430. Assessment Levels: R3, E3, M3. 51.3801

Must have a level 3 in Reading, English and Math. Admission to nursing program, BIOL 2401, BIOL 2402, ENGL 1301 and PSYC 2301.
