Course Description

Study of microorganisms; emphasis on microbe morphology and physiology; principles of disinfection, sterilization, immunity and pathogenicity. This course is intended for pre-nursing and associate-degree nursing majors, dental hygiene, pre-medical technology, respiratory therapy and surgical technology majors. Students may take this nonmajor's course (BIOL 2420) or the major's track course (BIOL 2421) but not both.Prerequisites: one year of high school biology (or 4 semester hours of biology) and CHEM 1406 or equivalent.
