LA 222 AI LITERACY FOR HUMANISTS
This course explores the intersection of Large Language Models (LLMs) and the Liberal Arts. We will investigate the technical "black box" of generative AI, its systemic linguistic and cultural biases, and its tendency to hallucinate. Most importantly, we will identify the Analog Wall—the boundary where digital data ends and physical archives and lived human experience begin—to develop the distinctly human skills of critical inquiry, ethical judgment, aesthetic discernment, and more.
