HIS 285 JAPANESE PROTEST GLOBAL 1960S

Introduces the turbulent decades following Japan’s defeat in World War II, focusing on the explosive protests that shaped contemporary Japanese culture. Discusses worker, student, and women’s movements in Japan alongside the rise of Asian American activism in the 1960s. Uses primary sources from the period (translated into English), including photos, anime, magazines, and manifestos.
