SPECIAL TOPICS IN FICTION: THE WRITER AS CITIZEN


This course examines fiction as a public, civic, and ethical practice. Students will study writers who engage with contemporary social and political life, consider the tensions between activism and art, and develop fiction in conversation with the world beyond the classroom. Emphasis is placed on craft, literary citizenship, ethical storytelling, and building a sustainable writing life.
