FLM 395T SCREENING DESIRE GLOBAL CINEMA

An examination of erotic desire in global cinema; how that desire is constructed and mediated by cultural, historical, political, and social forces; and how those forces intersect with systems of power, including patriarchy and class hierarchy. Students will engage with diverse films, questioning how cinema articulates desire, reinforces or subverts norms, and represents marginalized or transgressive desires.
