AHI 215 HANOI: PLACE AND MEMORY
Today Hanoi is dotted with structures and sites that span ten centuries, from the 1000-year-old ruins of the imperial palace to the Mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh and just-completed, 70-story glass-and-steel towers. The course applies cultural memory and postcolonial theory to the study of Hanoi's physically and culturally constructed cityscape.
