ASL 121 American Sign Language I

5 Credit hours   75 Contact hours

Exposes students to American Sign Language. Readiness activities are conducted focusing on visual/receptive skills and basic communication. Utilizes the direct experience method.

Prerequisite

Successful completion of CCR 092 (grade C or higher) or equivalent assessment scores.

Notes

Students must complete this course with a grade B or higher or pass an ASL proficiency test with a score of at least 80% or better prior to registering for ASL 122 if planning to enroll in the Interpreter Preparation Program at Front Range Community College or Pikes Peak Community College.
