ECO 322 Post-Revolutionary Cuba: Then and Now
This course will examine the evolution of Cuba’s economy since the Revolution, with a focus on recent efforts to privatize certain sectors of the economy. Students will study the economic, political, and historical contexts in which the Revolution took place and the subsequent implementation of a centrally planned economy. Both macroeconomic and microeconomic topics will be covered as we examine how the Cuban government and people begin to implement market-oriented activity.
