6510 Foundations of Genetics in Nursing and Healthcare

This course focuses on the foundational knowledge of genetics in advanced practice nursing as it relates to diagnosis, disease management, health promotion, and plan of care. Genomic influences on selected complex health problems will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed on the advances in healthcare along with ethical, social, political and economic impact of genetic information.
