Master of Professional Accountancy
The Master of Professional Accountancy (MPA) is a professional master’s degree program that prepares students to enter the accounting industry. The MPA includes required advanced accounting courses designed to provide essential knowledge in current areas of accounting. As a STEM designated program, technology and/or analytics is woven into each course. Students will be able to choose from a variety of accounting electives that will provide them with specific skills sought by employers. Following the liberal arts mission of the University, students will choose electives from the School of Business and College of Arts & Sciences communication and computer science departments. The end result of this program will be students who have obtained technical accounting knowledge and the ability to think critically about accounting data. The student will be able to analyze and solve unstructured business problems and effectively communicate the solution using skills obtained in the program. The MPA program will provide the knowledge needed to pass the CPA exam and for future success in any part of the accounting industry the student enters.
