Program Description: The Executive Administrative Assistant program prepares individuals to provide high-level administrative support by conducting research, preparing statistical reports, and handling information requests, as well as performing routine administrative functions such as preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, and scheduling meetings. May also train and supervise lower-level clerical staff. Courses include Computer Literacy, Business Procedures, Introduction to office suite software (including word processing, spreadsheet & database management), Principles of Management, and Financial Accounting.
Employment Opportunities: Those students who graduate with the Executive Administrative Assistant certificate may be employed in positions in office settings including educational institutions, federal, state, and local government offices, and small and large businesses. Executive Administrative Assistants may also train and supervise lower-level clerical staff. Keen competition is expected for jobs as the number of applicants greatly exceeds the number of job openings. Job openings are expected to increase as a result of the need to replace workers who transfer to other occupations or exit the labor force to retire.
