Management Competency Assessment
Master's degree programs in the School of Business are built upon the expectation that students will enter with foundational knowledge in core business disciplines to be successful.
Students entering without an undergraduate degree in business will be required to complete a Management Competency Assessment before starting courses. The Assessment covers the following areas of business: accounting; business law; business policy; business strategy; economics; ethics; finance; information technology; leadership; management; marketing; operations management; organizational behavior ; and statistics. The Management Competency Assessment allows entering students to assess their knowledge of fundamental core business disciplines. The Management Competency Assessment is provided free of charge.
If the student can show evidence of a GMAT score of 500 or above or has evidence of significant professional experience in all of the business discipline areas, the Management Competency Assessment requirements may be waived. Students continuing from AIU’s Bachelor of Accounting or Bachelor of Healthcare Management programs are exempt from the Management Competency Assessment Requirement.
