SPA 333 U.S. LATINO URB YOUTH NARRATVS

This course will look at how authors have constructed the city as a Latino youth space. Class readings will pay particular attention to the ways that gender, class, and ethnic/racial identity shape Latino youth experiences in major U.S. cities. These cities include: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Tampa, among others.

This course may include an optional section that will meet for an additional two hours each week to discuss supplemental readings in Spanish. Students participating in the foreign language section will receive two additional credit hours, pass/not passed marking.

This course cannot be taken at both the 300 and 400 level.
