PSY 210 CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY

An introduction to the field of clinical psychology with a focus on specific mental health conditions as well as multilevel influences on mental health and well-being more broadly. Students will seek to understand and critique the frameworks clinical psychologists and other mental health professionals typically use to describe, explain, treat, and prevent mental health conditions. Building on important contemporary initiatives by the American Psychological Association, students will seek to develop a multicultural and social justice perspective on mental health research, theory, and practice building the critical social justice literacy skills necessary to understand and support these initiatives.
