LA 410 DIGITAL SCHOLARS PRACTICUM

An introduction to digital scholarship tools and methods, this course exposes students to skills for designing and executing a multimodal website as a companion to their Honors paper, Capstone, or Senior Integrated Project. The course addresses a range of topics and skills related to digital publishing, such as copyright, crowdsourcing tools, interactive tools (e.g. maps, timelines), video and sound recording for oral histories and podcasts, web design best practices, and synthesizing and presenting research in multimodal formats for a public audience.

Students participating in the Digital Scholarship Honors Practicum section will receive one credit hour, pass/not passed marking. Students should enroll during both fall and spring semesters of their senior year.

Registration Restrictions

Enrollment is limited to seniors conducting a Capstone, SIP, or Honors thesis project. Instructor Permission required.
