GOV 338 THE POLITICS OF PROTEST

Resistance and the Politics of Protest An exploration of the logic and strategies of how marginalized groups organize collectively for their human rights in times of social unrest. Drawing from theories in social movement scholarship and international human rights, students will examine a number of contemporary movements globally. Topics may include sex workers' rights, informal laborers, rights of persons with disabilities, LGBTQIA+ rights, and indigenous rights movements.
