GOV 335 CONSTITUTN LAW: POWRS/INST

This course covers many of the most significant decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, with a focus on how they have shaped the practice of the rule of law and capitalism in American politics.  The course covers questions including: How does the Constitution shape and limit institutional powers of the Judiciary, Congress, and the Executive? How has the constitutional balance of power between national and state government changed over time? How does the Constitution foster capitalism and protect economic rights and liberties? How is the Constitution likely to affect the shape of the rule of law, capitalism, and democracy in the United States going forward?

Open to sophomores, juniors and seniors, and to sophomores who have taken GOV 111.
