FYS 1087 ART &TECHNOLOGY: WAYS OF BEING

How can Art and Technology foster new relationships between humans and the non-human world? James Bridle's book "Ways of Being" calls for an expanded ecology that includes humans, animals, plants, and technological systems via numerous anecdotes about the strange and wonderful complexity of our world. Students will use this book for inspiration and guidance in a hands-on class that explores this "Ecology of Technology" and our own relationships with it via personal writing, digital photography, sound, Generative AI work, and more, in the studio, the lab, the forest, and the city.
