FYS 1052 EVERYDAY MOVEMENTS

Everyday Movements (as Choreography)  Where and how do we observe movement? Are traffic patterns choreography? What about trees, as their branches and leaves sway in response to wind? In this course, students will have the opportunity to become keen observers of the choreography that is all around us, and how it can serve as physical metaphor for our lives. Students will move and engage with the embodied practice of dance: improvise, learn some steps, and utilize the patterns they observe as ways to create choreography.
