Humans use language to express thoughts and communicate with others. There are about 7000 languages spoken around the world and they all allow their speakers to accomplish the same goals effectively and effortlessly, yet differently. Topics include language classification, universals, linguistic variation, stereotypes and prejudices, multilingualism, language relativity, and language learning.
