FYS 1037 HEALTH AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

This interdisciplinary seminar investigates race, health, and social justice in U.S. history and in present-day New London. The coronavirus pandemic and police violence have exposed disparities in health on a national stage. Students will examine health justice activism from the Civil War to MLK and #BLM, then turn to present-day New London, engaging with community members and local experts to determine the impact of racism on health and to propose just responses.
