FYS 1028 PERFORMING PUBLIC HEALTH

This interdisciplinary seminar investigates how theater has been used to inform, educate, and empower people about health issues, particularly the underserved and those at risk. Working with professionals in the community, we consider the very definition of public health as we look to how the arts have shaped community understanding and action over time. Topics may include addiction, cancer, child welfare, infectious diseases, gun violence, environmental health, and others based on the interests of the participants and always with a critical eye toward health access and equity.
