FYS 1027 ART IRL

Foregrounding the idea that experiencing art is subjective, engages multiple senses, and involves dialogue, this course will press students to give their full, attentive presence to artworks viewed "In Real Life," not through reproductions. Research will bring students to understand more clearly what makes up their subjective lens, and they will hone their observational, interpretive, and descriptive skills through written and oral presentations and studio-based projects in particular media based on instructor expertise.
