FYS 1022 CONCEPTIONS OF HOME AND PLACE

We often find ourselves navigating our way through life based on how we have come to define the word “home” and how we understand places to have meaning. In this course, we will read and write our way into deeper understandings of home and place. We will read, analyze, and respond to creative nonfiction, fiction, and poetry where home and place are broad central themes. Students will have the opportunity to produce their own body of original creative writing through intensive writing, workshopping, and revising. Students will also enhance their research and presentation skills through various assignments throughout the semester.
