ES 100 INTRO TO ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES

An introduction to the interdisciplinary field of environmental studies, including issues of pollution and its impacts, social injustices associated with environmental issues, awareness of the interdisciplinarity of environmental studies, and understanding of the complexity of human-environment interactions. Emphasis on the skills of argument-based writing, critical evaluation of sources, broad understanding of environmental impacts of specific actions, and evaluation of basic data science. Sections focus on different environmental topics and related societal and/or scientific issues.
