ENG 222A DOUBLE TAKES

SPECIAL TOPICS IN FICTION: DOUBLE TAKES  A course in fiction writing and reading. Students will read pairs of short stories and novels that are in some way "doubles" of each other, whether in structure, subject, narrative distance, etc. We will consider how these "rewrites" speak productively to each other and instructively to us about craft principles we can derive via creative deviation from a pattern. Students will write paired stories.
