COM 211 INTRODUCTION TO DATA SCIENCE

An introduction to data science with an emphasis on exploratory data analysis (EDA).  The course includes a review of programming structures for data science, as well as techniques for cleaning, manipulating, and analyzing data using Python packages such as pandas, NumPy, SciPy, Matplotlib, and scikit-learn.  The course employs basic probability, statistics, and graphical interpretations to explain the story each dataset has to tell.  Datasets range from information about passengers on the Titanic to the timing of the Old Faithful geyser to statistics about TikTok videos.
