CHI 411 ADVANCED CHINESE I

A seminar-style, Open-Educational-Resources-based inquiry into a student’s personal study or research topic(s). Reading and audio-visual materials may be selected from any socio-cultural-journalistic, literary-artistic, or scientific-technical field, and are explored to supplement the student’s major/minor/center/pathway pursuits. Students will produce synoptic, analytic, and/or creative works in writing, speaking, and/or the multimedia format, and compile an individualized vocabulary of 1,000 entries.

Notes

Native Chinese speakers may fulfill their World Languages and Cultures requirement by enrolling in any two 400-level Chinese courses and study one of the language's literary genres, speech varieties, writing conventions, or any other aspects with which they were previously unfamiliar. Examples include classical or dialectal Chinese, historical works or scripts, and any related subject approved by the department.

Prerequisite

CHI 302 or equivalent.
