ANT 246 POWER FOOD & PEOPLE IN SICILY

An examination of Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean and the southernmost region in Italy. Course materials will focus on three defining aspects of the Sicilian experience over the past century: power, including mafia and anti-mafia, civil society, and the European Union; food, especially culture of the table, commodity and organic agriculture, and wine; and people, including demographic change, emigration, immigration, and tourism.
