ES 100E INTRO TO ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES
ENVIRONMENTAL STUDIES AS A SOCIAL SCIENCE This course explores the interdisciplinary nature of environmental studies, investigating the linkages between environmental science, the social sciences, and the humanities. Particular emphasis is placed on the complex linkage between science and politics, looking at both domestic U.S. environmental problems and policy as well as international and global environmental problems and responses by the international community. Environmental philosophies, literature, social activism, and economics are also included in this interdisciplinary introduction to environmental studies.
Notes
Students may not receive credit both for this course and for ES 111 or any other section of ES 100.

Open to first-years, sophomores, and juniors.
