ENG 342 CROSS-CULTURAL POETRY

CROSS-CULTURAL POETRY

A thematic exploration of modern and contemporary poetry written mostly in English that grapples with questions of transnational or global encounter. Each week focuses on one global theme (modernity, spirituality, travel, war, gender, nature, etc.) and examines how that theme has been imagined through verse across the world, alongside theory and criticism that help us relate poetry to other discourses and art forms.
