SOC 237 INQUIRY IN BLACK

An interdisciplinary course designed to explore various aspects of Black experiences from the perspectives of Africana Studies, the social sciences, and the humanities. The course covers Black experiences in the U.S. from enslavement to the present as well as experiences from the African diaspora. Topics include critical examinations of Black families, the Black church, Black music, Black feminist thought, and intracommunity dynamics around hair, colorism, class, love relationships, and diasporic connections.
