AHI 264 CURATING BLACK PORTRAITURE
Exploring contemporary black portraiture and issues of race, identity, and artistic legacy, this course focuses on artist Barkley L. Hendricks (American, 1945–2017). Lectures, discussions, and curatorial and archival projects will help shape an upcoming exhibition that explores place, biography, and Hendricks’s teaching at Connecticut College as part of his broader artistic legacy.
