AHI 208 SILK ROAD

This course explores the art of the Silk Road, a network of trade routes across Eurasia since 200 BCE. Students will examine the transnational significance of the Silk Road through the study of painted scrolls, prints, silk, porcelain, and sacred sites. Students will work with materials in local collections, and use image databases and digital mapping tools to create new perspectives on the Silk Road.
