MUS 304 THE ELECTRONIC MUSICIAN

A continuation of MUS 203 (Making Music with Computers), this class focuses on mixing, mastering, and electronic composition skills. As 21st century musicians, we all interact with the computer as part of our daily lives. Students will investigate the many ways of using the computer as a tool to expand and refine their artistic output. The class is project-based, drawing on works from all genres of music as inspiration for finding our own creative voices and approaches to composing. A historical survey of works from experimental music, rock, hip-hop, EDM, and sound art will be analyzed as well.
