ENG 317 BLACK WOMEN WRITERS

Black Women Writers: Laying Foundations  This course examines the work of writers who helped to lay the groundwork for contemporary thought and activism regarding representation, beauty, gender and sexuality, intersectionality, immigration, Black Atlantic collaborations, and Afro-Futurism. Authors may include Paule Marshall, Toni Cade Bambara, Audre Lorde, Sonia Sanchez, Alice Walker, Toni Morrison, Octavia Butler, and Edwidge Danticat.
