AHI 205 JAPANESE ART & ARCHITECTURE

This course investigates the unique artistic traditions and religious cultures of Japan from prehistory to the present. Students will examine architecture (Shinto shrines, Buddhist temples, Zen gardens), material objects (tea cups, kimonos, armor, Noh masks), and prints, photography, manga, and anime. Students will create virtual exhibitions to develop visual analysis skills and increase digital literacy.
