EMB 201 THEMATIC INQUIRY

A team-taught, multidisciplinary inquiry of bodies and embodiment, their (her)(his)tories, and practices across time and across cultures. Topics may include conformity, resistance, food, capitalism's framing of bodies, individualism, globalization of bodily practices, cultural appropriation, and the medical gaze. Throughout the course, students will reflect on their embodied social locations using their medium of choice. These reflections will culminate in a critical analysis of the course's themes and content, which will assist students in articulating their animating questions for the Pathway.
