Music Performance (B.A.)

The Bachelor of Arts with a major in Music and an Emphasis in Performance (Vocal or Instrumental) is designed for students who wish to achieve a high level of proficiency in performance, with a primary focus on the classical tradition. Prospective students for the performance emphasis must be able to read notated music and demonstrate strong technical proficiency in their instrument/voice at the time of audition. Degree candidates receive thorough instruction in music theory and history and take courses in a variety of other disciplines to achieve the breadth of learning that characterizes a liberal arts degree. Candidates demonstrate their achievement in performance at the end of their degree by performing a public recital. For more information about this program, contact Dr. Orit Amy Eylon at eylon@uiwtx.edu.
