SPA 304 ENVIRON JUSTICE IN LAT AMERICA

Environmental Justice in Latin America and Spain  An exploration of the inextricable link between ecosystems and humans through questions of social and environmental justice. The course focuses on issues of indigenous rights, poverty, cultural, racial, gender, and social prejudice. The course explores works that reflect the degradation of nature, natural resources, animals, and the ability to fight climate change. Case studies of exploitation or neglect and cultural studies from Latin America and Spain  are paired with grassroots movements designed to promote profound change. This course is in Spanish and requires extensive writing and presentation skills in Spanish and conversation facilitation with students from SPA 204
