MAT 111 CALC A: LIMITS AND DERIVATIVES
An introduction to differential calculus, in which the relevant precalculus background is also developed. Topics include functions, limits, and derivatives, along with applications to rates of change, velocity, acceleration, and optimization.
Notes
Students are encouraged to have a departmental interview to determine the appropriate level at which to enter the calculus sequence. Course 111 is a suitable starting point for students who have had no previous exposure to calculus or who do not have a strong background in mathematics.
