ITL 342 MEDIEVAL HERSTORIES

With a comparative focus on Italy, this course explores women’s literary contributions in the Middle Ages and early modern times, and analyzes how women were portrayed in contemporary male writings. While contextualizing the readings, students will analyze their impact on proto-feminist issues. The course has a global perspective and includes authors from the Middle East and East Asia.
