The course will examine these themes from the perspectives of both Europeans and non-Europeans, with a focus on the historical analysis of primary sources. As a ConnCourse, this class will make connections across the liberal arts, asking students to engage literature and film, as well as aspects of art and architectural history, as they study the evolution of ideas about the role of Europe in the world.
