GWS 380 CONTEMPORARY FEMINIST THEORY

An examination of the themes, interventions, conflicts, and revisions undergone by feminist theory since 1980.  The course draws on an intersectional, interdisciplinary lens to analyze how feminist theorists and activists have or have not developed theoretical frames and methods that attend to complex identities, movements, and histories. The course employs a framework that posits gender and sexuality as always already intertwined with race, class, nation, ability, and religion, as well as other categories of analysis to produce inequity and privilege.
