Introduction to College Writing & the Writing Life

This writing course will provide students with an introduction to college writing in a variety of rhetorical situations with an emphasis on persuasive, analytical, narrative, and reflective writing. The course will allow students an opportunity to identify and further develop their writing process, to explore the goals and features of different academic genres, to consider the intersections of critical and creative writing practices, and to enhance their understanding of grammar, punctuation, and syntax conventions. Students will also read and respond to texts that describe and analyze the writing life and will have a chance to reflect on and record their own experiences with reading and writing.
