COM 203 BIOINFORMATICS

An introduction to the use of informatics, genomics, and computational biology in analyzing biological data. Topics include DNA and protein sequences, gene expression, and computational techniques for retrieving, analyzing, and visualizing biological data. Focus on DNA analysis with broad biological applications, including medicine, ecology, and evolutionary biology. Emphasis on projects involving interdisciplinary teams.
