CLA 236 ALEXANDER: LIFE AND LEGEND

A study of Alexander the Great’s sensational life, his empire of conquest from Greece to India, crises of leadership, and enduring power in legends worldwide. By analyzing his tendentious ancient histories and biographies, students will discern fact from fiction, and how each fictional Alexander came into being. Later romance, films, and scholarship reveal how his image has evolved over time and place.
