CLA 220 MAGIC IN THE ANCIENT WORLD

An exploration of magical practices in the ancient Greco-Roman world. Students will examine ancient curse tablets and spell books, as well as literary descriptions of magic, while considering the religious, political, and social contexts in which magic was used.
